POSITION SUMMARY:Community Dental Care is looking for friendly, bright candidates to work in our call center who believe in access for all in a caring and respectful environment. This Scheduling Coordinator position works with a diverse population and is an integral part of the organization. Ideally looking for candidates who are bi-lingual in Karen or Somali.?The Scheduling Coordinator arranges, integrates and represents all facets of patient services. Greet patients warmly over the phone and make them feel welcomed and relaxed. Answer the telephone, schedule appointments, communicate with patients regarding scheduling options, and maintain patient records. Manage and control the daily, weekly, and monthly schedule in order to meet the practice scheduling protocol.?Community Dental Care is devoted to keeping patient and employees safe. In response to COVID-19, we are continually updating our already robust infection protocols to include the latest CDC, OSHA, and Board of Dentistry requirements and recommendations.?HOURS:Monday through Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pmFriday 8:00am-4:00pm?DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:General:* Schedule appointments in computer and record in chart* Maximize time efficiency in scheduling by utilizing procedure codes for doctor time* Check that lab cases have been received the day before treatment, and call in lab cases if needed* Connects with language interpreters daily* Adjust the schedule as necessary* Make sure there are open times in the day to provide flexibility or time for emergencies* Check account balances of patients coming in and prepare to discuss any monies due* Adhere to any and all safety health regulations* Register new patients* Inform interpreters to schedule for patients* Explain ER protocol/procedures to patients* Copy and scan documents and X-rays into patients? charts* Request chart/patient transfers* Record patient issues/conversations in communication log or chartAdditional or different duties may be assigned from time to time.?Competencies:* Is able to ?get along? with fellow staff members and treat all with respect and courtesy* Exceptional telephone communication skills* Works well in teams of co-workers* Accepts constructive criticism* Desire and ability to work well with the public* Organized, motivated, committed and self-directed* Positive attitude about the practice, the services and the products sold* Outstanding verbal skills that reflects well on the practice* Understands concepts regarding duties and responsibilities* Dependable job attendance and can be relied on to follow through with assigned tasks?MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* Knowledge of dental terminology, scheduling and interacting with staff and patients* Knowledge of updated OSHA regulations* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Skilled at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment* Self-motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently* Excellent rapport and working relationships with staff* Strong organizational skills* Mature and responsible with an enthusiastic work ethic* Experience in working with culturally diverse, limited-English or non-English speaking patients preferred
