Architectural Drafter


This is a Full-time position in St Paul, MN posted February 20, 2021.

Wunderlich-Malec is a 100% employee-owned ESOP and one of the largest and most well-established (35+ years) architecture and engineering companies in the United States – we have an Architectural Drafter position open in our St. Paul office to prepare architectural design drawings and specifications for new construction, existing facilities expansion, and renovation projects from self-generated designs. This person will deliver drawings and specifications through all phases of the project. This position will assist the Business Unit Manager in achieving the overall strategic objectives of the company and project profitability.Major ResponsibilitiesCommunication with internal staff, clients, and other consultants / disciplines.Must exhibit a high level of skills as required to balance numerous and simultaneous projects with the ability to meet deadlines.Preparation of architectural conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents.Experience in architectural floor plans, wall sections, building elevations and associated schedules and details.Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager / Business Unit Manager as deemed appropriate.Key CompetenciesKnowledge of contract documents and specifications.Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.Ability to perform system design functions.Planning, Customer Focus, Timely Decision Making, Informing, Organizing, Priority Setting, Problem Solving.All employees are expected to interact with clients in a highly professional manner. This position is expected to properly represent EFA’s service offerings to clients, and to quantify and describe to clients the business value associated with EFA’s service offerings. EFA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc.Minimum RequirementsEducationTwo year degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent is preferred.ExperienceTwo+ years relevant work experience in an Architecture environment.Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.Demonstrated skill in working effectively with a team of architects, engineers and A/E support.Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications.Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Can work independently with little input and direction from the Business Unit Manager.All employees are required to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook).Working EnvironmentWork is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. May be subject to travel assignments constituting up to 10% of the work schedule.
