The Board of Medical Practice will determine the starting salary based on the successful applicant’s qualifications.Classified Status: ClassifiedBargaining Unit/Union: 216 – Middle Management Association/MMAFLSA Status: Exempt – ExecutiveConnect 700 Program Eligible: YesJob SummaryJob SummaryThe Minnesota Board of Medical Practice protects the public’s health and safety by assuring that the people who practice medicine or as an allied health professional are competent, ethical practitioners with the necessary knowledge and skills appropriate to their title and role. The Board licenses over 34,000 licensees. This position interacts directly with board members, Attorney General’s Office, Health Professionals Services Program, the Department of Administration and internal and external stakeholders.The Operations and Administration Manager provides the administrative management for the Board. This includes serving as a collaborative member of the Board management team. This position assists with planning, developing, and implementing policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include fiscal operations of the board, such as processing and reconciling invoices, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, tracking inventory and managing special projects. This position directly reports to the Executive Director, supervises administrative staff, and facilitates human resource support to all staff.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications* Two years of experience managing clerical and administrative office functions. Office functions may include, but are not limited to: managing contracts, human resource and payroll support; developing and implementing policies and procedures; and overseeing fiscal operations and purchasing.* Two years of supervisory or lead work experience including directing and assigning work, managing and measuring performance, and overseeing administrative support staff.* Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records, and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems.* Knowledge of office organization, procedures and workflow sufficient to establish objectives and assess results.* Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).* Good communication and human relations skills sufficient to deal courteously with employees and all clientele.Preferred Qualifications* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.* Ability to handle multiple projects and work with tight deadlines.* Knowledge of the Minnesota Medical Practice Act and practice acts for allied health professions under the Board’s regulatory authority, Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Administrative Procedures Act and Minnesota Statute Chapter 214.* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions in a variety of situations and circumstances.* Ability to develop and cultivate a strong team environment and a customer service culture.* Experience creating and editing Position Descriptions.Physical RequirementsThis position requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as laptop computers and file boxes.Additional RequirementsThis position requires successful completion of pre-employment reference checks.
