You’ll create and implement industry-leading measurement and learning agendas while staying on the cutting edge of emerging measurement innovations.As a Director, Marketing Effectiveness, you will lead a team of in-house experts on measurement capabilities, marketing analytics, data across marketing channels, and technology related to measuring the various marketing channels, including Digital, Social, and Traditional Marketing.

This is a key role in our growing Marketing Measurement strategy and will advise Target on industry best practices, approaches, technologies, processes, and products.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading Target’s marketing measurement practice, establishing the strategy for marketing performance, standing-up reporting capabilities and driving the practice of business performance storytelling.

You will partner closely with Target’s senior Marketing leaders to identify deep media and message insights and convert those into successful communications strategies.You will lead, in partnership with analytics teams and agencies, multiple projects involving primary/secondary research, competitive research, modeling analytics and testing.This role requires a leader that is an inspiring, can help transform how Target measures the impact of our marketing investment and our sources of growth.

You will bring the ability to see beyond our existing capabilities and tools to lead us forward.

Key responsibilities will include:ENTERPRISE GOALS & PERFORMANCE* Mktg sales goals & outcomes* Investment needs & tracking (Greenline)* Media mix scenarios (MMO)* Performance learnings* Regular/ongoing performance updates* Historical performance analysis* Design a portfolio level investment learning agenda CAMPAIGN GOALS & PERFORMANCE Campaign sales goals & outcomes Campaignperformance learnings In-flight performance updates (as appropriate) Learning plan development Historical campaign performance analysis Measurement consulting & expertiseMARKETINGBUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & THOUGHT LEADERSHIP* Marketshare reporting* Competitive media spend reporting & marketplace intelligence* Primary and secondary research projects that inform our media and marketing actionsCHANNEL PERFORMANCE Channel performance deep dives (as needed) Channel performance reporting (MMO, Zippy)About you:* Four-year degree with strong academic performance, or equivalent experience, MBA preferred* 10-15+ years of relevant Marketing & measurement experience* Experience leading transformation of process and capabilities* Experience with multiple measurement methodologies, models and approaches* Experience managing and leading teams* Proven ability to translate concepts into research methodologies* Able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect with peers, direct reports, and senior executives* Track record of success in dealing effectively with complex projects entailing frequent interaction with senior executives* Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate highly complex findings to focus on the critical issues and actionable opportunities* Proven ability to translate data into clear and compelling narratives to influence and drive strategic decision-making* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present in both large and small group settingsAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA)Target will provide reasonable accommodations (such as a qualified sign language interpreter or other personal assistance) with the application process upon your request as required to comply with applicable laws.
