Software Engineer II – St Paul, MN

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Software Quality Engineer II who will be responsible for developing test scripts and procedures for evaluating complaints. The individual chosen for this position must be able to work cooperatively in a small to medium sized group and with representatives from other functional groups.

  • Read and Interpret customer complaints to determine testing and scripting for software log evaluations
  • Develop well-documented & readable python scripts to interpret Software Engineering logs
  • Accurately document investigation results per division’s complaint handling procedures
  • Utilize risk management documentation to determine risk of reported and as found product events
  • Analyze complaint data for statistical trends and communicate opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and investigative protocols to identify root causes
  • Participate in software validation activities of internally developed software
  • Work and communicate cross-functionally with other departments, including product development, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, and others, to effectively communicate analysis data to inform design and process improvements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software or Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a software related role or quality related role with quality experience
  • Computer knowledge is essential (especially Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to develop and review Maintain and review software in C++
  • Experience working in Linux environment

Preferred 

  • Knowledge of Python or other object-oriented languages
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable industry regulations and follows company operating procedures, policies, and rules is essential
  • Experience working within the Medical device or other regulated industry
