Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Telehealth Options Available)

NEW BEDFORD, MA–We are looking for a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for our North Street location. The PNP will work in our Outpatient clinic seeing all ages but primarily adult patients for 30-40 hours weekly. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide each client with quality psychiatric services as deemed appropriate by the Medical Director. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner treats children, adolescent and adults within the context of recognizable and sound medical standards. S/he is directly responsible to the Medical Director. WE PROVIDE FREE CLINICAL SUPERVISION FOR OUR STAFF.

  • Licensed to practice psychiatry in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Board-Certified or board eligible before the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Must be available to work on-call within a rotating schedule


The following responsibilities are not meant to be all inclusive and may be adjusted to meet the agency’s needs.

  • Evaluate psychiatric, neurological and psychopharmacological status of clients
  • Participate in the development of client diagnoses and behaviorally oriented treatment plans
  • Participate in on-call rotation for the 24 hour programs
  • Prescribe and supervise psychopharmacology
  • Evaluate clients for hospitalization
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team and Continuous Quality Improvement Committee
  • Develop policies and protocols for pharmacological procedures
  • Participate in planning and development of psychiatric and mental health services within a managed care framework
  • Be available for consultation when needed, to staff and other service providers
  • Assess and refer, where appropriate, non-psychiatric health problems
  • Attend scheduled Peer Review meetings
  • Provide training to staff
