Service Lead


This is a Full-time position in Saint Paul, MN posted April 7, 2021.

JOB SUMMARYThe Service Lead position is responsible for assigning and coordinating flow of work within the assigned work centers (cells).

Overall responsibilities are designed around coordinating within the production floor the goal of achieving 100% customer satisfaction by improving on-time deliveries as well as promoting continuous quality improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Assign and coordinate flow of work within the assigned cells to create efficient thru put of materials.Participate in resolving questions or problems concerning Service activities.Monitor WIP level and ensure that employees are implementing FIFO (first in first out) to support on time deliveries.Make suggestions and incorporate changes to improve the workflow in the assigned cells.Provide Supervisor with input concerning employee performance, quality, and workflow issues.

Assist with documenting service procedures.Assist in maintaining a high standard of quality for the assigned cells, including checking work.Enter all completions of units in assigned area in the daily report.Assist others in the organization with introducing and maintaining best practices on the Service floor including Lean Manufacturing and 5S.Participate in ISO training and promote ISO department compliance.Train and assist assemblers to use the computer (SAP) for ordering parts, making appropriate parts transaction and charging time to work service work orders.Assist with reprint of calibration certificate requests from customers.Ensure employees in area of responsibility are sufficiently trained to perform assigned work.Assist Team Leader (Supervisor) with coaching employees on daily work habits, following work procedures, quality issues, and correcting mistakes.Be cognizant of any potential safety problems and report to a Supervisor or Safety committee member.Perform cycle counting to ensure accurate account of materials and parts in the area.Assist Team Leader in assessing the temporary work staff and make recommendations.On occasion, perform service on instrument on the product line(s) when labor is short.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS EducationHigh school diploma or GED is required.

Leadership training is desired.Experience2-4 years assembly/manufacturing experience.

Preference may be given to candidates with specific work center assembly experience.KNOWLEDGEGood manufacturing practices including: Lean, 5S, and Point of Use Inventory.Broad product knowledge.Basic computer programs including Microsoft Office products and SAP.
