Sales Director

About You:

The Director of Sales will train, manage, motivate, and empower a high-performance team of sales engineers to meet established goals, achieve profitable growth and deliver long-term customer satisfaction. Your expertise in program management and the sales process will help the company meet key objectives with current customers and drive new business sales with profitable markets and product lines.

Team Management:

  • Provide leadership, planning and direction, and be accountable for performance of all sales functions
  • Manage hiring, training, and development to maintain an effective team and profitable new business growth
  • Lead the sales budget and forecasting process; own and intimately know company sales and backing position for projections; understand gaps and put action plans in place to close those gaps
  • Represent and promote the company at trade shows and through effective branding
  • Support and collaborate with Leadership Team to develop a sales and marketing strategy that grows revenue
  • Research and stay up-to-date on evolving market environment to improve ability to source new business
  • Collaborate on a marketing communications strategy that aligns with corporate initiatives and resonates with the marketplace

Sales Management:

  • Provide leadership, planning and direction to achieve year-over-year new business growth that meet/exceed sales targets
  • Collaborate with other internal teams in support of contract negotiation efforts
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide data to the management team to ensure maximized sales efforts
  • Identify growth market areas with complementary manufacturing technologies

Identify and foster OEM sales growth with an emphasis in the OEM Medical Device and/or 

  • Aerospace/Defense markets
  • Oversee periodic business reviews with customers (minimum of one annual review/customer)
  • Be accountable for new product introductions, product enhancements, customer concerns and product resolution

Program Management:

  • Manage the development of new programs from concept through customer approval
  • Manage small- to large-scale programs by providing leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams
  • Monitor parts demand, and regularly analyze/review any demand to update customers and project teams on EAU projections, dedicated inventory requirements, MOQ, etc.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate of status, critical project milestones and action items to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuously evaluate program resource needs to proactively support programs
  • Define and clarify technical aspects of project to support customer interactions and meetings
  • Proactively seek customer intel on new programs to inform sales and business development actions and goals
  • Establish, build and maintain positive and growth-focused relationships with customers


·       Perform and report on risk analysis appropriate to the product and the company

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field of study
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Minimum of three years’ sales leadership experience in OEM Medical Device or Aerospace/Defense market spaces
  • Exposure to injection molding, precision metals, contract assembly, and quality and manufacturing systems
  • Proven track record in OEM sales management or product development environment
  • Experience tracking market growth and competitor pricing for negotiations and sales forecasting

  • Understanding of:
  • pricing, contract negotiation and the financial side of business

  • Extensive strategic and tactical planning and forecasting capabilities


Up to 30% (will evolve as COVID restrictions change)
